DNV wins bronze award in prestigious International Green Awards.

At the recent 2011 International Green Awards in London, DNV was awarded bronze in the category Best Green International Business Award for large companies. “This is a great achievement for DNV,” says CEO Henrik O. Madsen. “We are continuously striving to show that in an increasingly challenging world, DNV’s competence and experience instills trust and confidence and that we help companies worldwide achieve sustainable economic, safe and environmental performance.”
“The award reflects DNV’s growing status in the sustainability arena,” adds Bjorn K. Haugland, COO of Division Sustainability and Innovation, who attributes the award to the dedicated efforts of all business units in DNV. “Indeed, all of us in DNV should take pride in achieving this prestigious award.”
The international Green Awards are considered by many as a genuine effort to promote positive attitudes towards sustainability and to recognize “true influencers, leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators who are helping to educate and inspire others in the sustainability field.”

The awards were judged via an online platform by 40 global judges representing diverse areas within sustainability. The three main criteria for judging were effectiveness and positive sustainable impact, level of innovation and sustainability vision and topicality. The winners in Best Green International Business Award for large companies were Unilever (Gold) Puma (Silver) and DNV (Bronze).
