DNV offers class entry to owners who see the benefits of having DNV class and access to all of DNV's services for their ships which were built to another class society. Approximately one quarter of the more than 5,000 ships in DNV class have been entered into DNV class after construction by owners that have seen the added benefits of having DNV class.

How to start:

By contacting your local DNV Office, you may receive a complete offer on class entry to DNV for the ship in question, including issuance of all relevant statutory certificates.

  • Date and place of the class entry to be decided by you. The survey will be carried out by an exclusive DNV surveyor.

  • Extent of the survey depends upon ship age, type, condition and statutory certificates to be issued.

  • Interim class certificate and relevant short term statutory certificates will be issued upon completion of survey.

  • Full term certificates will be issued after review of class transfer documentation and receipt of necessary information.
